Casting Call!

Are you having a baby girl this spring? I’m looking for a newborn girl (5-7 days old) to come to my home studio the first week of March to try out some new poses and props.

There will be of course no session fee for this session, but you are welcome to purchase any prints and products at my regular rates.

This little guy–all 6.5 lbs of him–made me work today! But it was my pleasure. Plus I got some good snuggle time, which to be honest, is my favorite part.

2009 in Review — Johanna Price Photography

Thank you to all of my clients & friends for making my first year in business so amazing. I thought it would be fun to go back and pick out one image from each session. Some of these are my favorites from the session; others are fun ones I hadn’t shared before.

Looking through them is an evolution not just of my skill and style, but also how I wanted to size/watermark my images. Ha.

I’m already booking into 2010, and I will be primarily focusing on maternity + newborn packages as well as babies up to toddlers. So if you are expecting a 2010 baby — or if your 2009 baby will be turning 6 months or a year old — e-mail me at johanna@johannaprice.com today!

Elissa: What do you do to make the lighting so uniform? Do you travel with lights and reflectors?

admin: Hi Elissa. No lights and reflectors. I just seek out the best light I can find. Here we were in a hallway opposite a large window. (But like a room's length away.) Then there's another set of window's to camera left. (But again, like a room length away.) These were taken about 10:30 a.m.

Kaitlyn: Oh man, the skirt continues to kill me! And her blue eyes in that first photo - just gorgeous!

Miss Marlo — 4 months old

All of the babies I photograph are special. They’re uniquely created and uniquely loved, and I consider it a true honor and pleasure to capture them as they are in those fleeting moments. But I will confess that to me Miss Marlo is extra special.

Last month two of my dear friends flew from Atlanta to Dallas, Texas, to meet their little girl and bring her home. Going through their pictures, I am overwhelmed with God’s goodness and how he has a plan for us all. It’s so obvious that this little baby was made for her parents and that they were made just for her. I cry every time I think of it.

So without further blubbering on my part, Marlo’s first Johanna Price Photo session.

Jennifer Z.: These are fantastic! My favorites are the one of all three of them and the one of Chris and Marlo by the crib.

Meghan: Oh, these are fantastic! Tears in my eyes. Well done, Johanna.

ALH: I can hardly type from the tears. These are overwhelmingly beautiful. And then some of the tears are from laughing at the cow babylegs photos. The one on the left absolutely laid me out. Honestly, that top photo is better than any picture ever taken of me and Chris, together or separately, and that includes our wedding photos. What a priceless gift you have for this work. I am so blown away by all of them.

Jo Ann: Hannah, these are so precious. You truly have a gift for this. Thank God for the blessing of your friendship to Allison and Chris over the years.

Joanne: I looked at these on my phone and I thought they were so good but they are *killing* me on my regular monitor. Just perfect. Great work, Huffs and Hannah!
