I am having so much fun editing his session; I had to add a few more …

Seed to Sprout clients J & J came to my studio this weekend for their newborn session with baby Z at just 6 days old! The little guy was 11 days late, and came in at 9 lbs 11 oz. Oh, he is a delicious smush! He was so good for me …
Here are just a few from our session.

Little B. had the honor of being the very first newborn in my new home studio! My husband and I moved into a new house in April, and there is a large bonus room with beautiful light. It’s awesome!
For such a new guy, he wasn’t very sleepy. But that is where lots of swaddling, snuggling and snacking comes in handy. I always allow at least two hours for a newborn session, but sometimes they can go longer. Patience is key with newbies!

B.’s big sister Jane came along too. While B. took feeding breaks, she and I talked about doggies. (You may remember J. from her early morning session last fall.) She’s grown so much!

She is such a good big sister …

Thank you for coming out, B. family! I hope you like your sneak peek.
This weekend I flew to Atlanta to photograph my friend’s second son, Henry. He was scheduled to arrive April 16, which would’ve made him only 8 days old at our shoot, but he came a bit early, born April 9. But he was still bendy and sleepy for me, and we managed some good ones.
He is a squoosh and a doll, and I just love him. His big brother calls him “Hen-a-ree,” so now does everyone else.
You have two beautiful sons, McAfees. Henary is perfect.

Brothers. Abe takes his big brother role very seriously …

Monkey bear …
And finally, something I’ve been wanting to try. It’s fun to shoot for friends, because they let you try stuff like this …

My friend Karla and her husband are the proud new parents of a precious baby girl. (Adorable doesn’t even begin to cover it!)

She was sleepy and posed so well for me. (LOVE this damask blanket that Karla brought. Will have to find myself one!)

Welcome to the world sweet girl!
Sam wasn’t supposed to arrive till March 15, but he had other plans. Born at 36 weeks, 6 days, he’s a sweet little peanut!
He did such a great job, as was the perfect model for my first session of 2010. I’m so glad to be back shooting (and baby snuggling) after my hiatus!

I love this one …

And this one. I love this one a lot …

The whole family, starring “big sister” Bailey …

Thank you for being a sweet little model today, Sam, and happy (early!) birthday!
This little guy–all 6.5 lbs of him–made me work today! But it was my pleasure. Plus I got some good snuggle time, which to be honest, is my favorite part.

Look at his little lips!

As a (multiple) dog owner, I always try to get a shot of the first baby.

And finally, this image just makes me happy… . (Do you see his little toes peeking out?)

Congratulations E & C. What a beautiful little Christmas gift you got this year! I hope you like your sneak peek, and I look forward to sending you the full gallery!
Seed to Sprout clients Angie & Phil welcomed their son O. to the world on October 24. (Only a mere 8 days after his due date, the stinker!)
He was oh so sweet, I almost didn’t want to put him down in order to take his picture! (I have to tell you a secret. I love babies. And I especially love newborns. They’re so tiny and cuddly and they smell so sweet. It is so much fun to photograph them, but I like holding and snuggling them is just as much fun.)

He didn’t sleep for me at all (not even a wink!), but he was happy and content during the entire shoot.

With his daddy & mama:

This picture reminds me of those old commercials … “Whatchu doin’?” “Nothing. Just chillin’.” He’s just chillin in his nursery, a happy swaddled boy:

Thank you for having me out S. family. I look forward to seeing you again in six months!
I met up with Amy & Nick last month for their maternity session. And only a few weeks later their little one arrived, 11 days early! I got to meet him this weekend, on his 10-day birthday.
He’s a beautiful baby …

A hint of a smile…

My friend Maria, in California, made this hat. Little did I know that Amy & Nick are Packer fans (boo hiss). But it was a perfect fit …

With daddy …

And with his beautiful mama …

My best friend Melissa had a baby girl on August 18, and I was lucky enough to be able to visit them in Cincinnati last week. One of the joys of aging (ha) is seeing your old friends transistion to new roles. It is a trip, but I love it.
Introducing A. …
She was wide-eyed at first, but that didn’t last too long:
